ARC-1 Support

Open the coin door under the control panel.

The Test and Service buttons panel is located to right of the inner coin door.

To install a game cartridge:

1. Turn off the cabinet and unplug the power cable.
2. Pull the cabinet out and open the back door by unlocking it.
3. Put the door aside in a secure area.
4. Locate the exA-Arcadia System and insert the game cartridge into an open slot.

Open the coin door under the control panel.

The sound volume panel is located to left of the inner coin door.

To change the marquee:

1. Remove the screws from the top of the marquee area.
2. Slide out the installed marquee.
3. Insert the new marquee.
4. Secure the marquee in the slot with the screws.

To install new instruction strips:

1. Remove the screws from the acrylic panel on top of the monitor.
2. Lift the acrylic panel and carefully set it aside in a secure place.
3. Use masking or scotch tape and apply to the back of the instruction strip in the center and both ends.
4. Put the instruction strip in the desired area under or above the monitor.

To rotate the monitor:

1. Turn off the cabinet and unplug the power cable.
2. Pull the cabinet out and open the back door by unlocking it.
3. Put the door aside in a secure area.
4. On the back side, unlock the brass clasps under the monitor area.
5. Remove the control panel (check below for details).
6. Remove the HDMI and power cables from the back of the monitor.
7. On the back side of the monitor, remove the screws securing the monitor on the bracket.
8. Remove the screws from the acrylic panel on the front side of the cabinet and set aside in a secure place.
9. Remove the bezel from the front of the cabinet.
10. From the front side of the cabinet, pull out the monitor and rotate it 90 degrees in the desired direection.
11. Place the monitor back in the cabinet and reattach the HDMI and power cables.

*Ensure to set DIP1 on the exA-Arcadia System for the correct monitor orientation.

To remove a control panel:

1. Open the control panel by unlocking from the underside.
2. Lift up the top of the control panel 90 degrees.
3. Disconnect all wiring harnesses.
4. Remove the 2 large bolts.
5. Now, you can safely take off the control panel and set it to the side.
6. Insert the replacement control panel in its place.
7. Secure the control panel with the 2 bolts and reconnect all wiring harnesses.

*Note for 4 player control panels, an additional I/O board and wiring harnesses are required.

Open the control panel by unlocking from the underside.

Lift up the top of the control panel 90 degrees.

Joysticks

Remove the wiring harness attached to the joystick

Remove the 4 bolts securing the joystick and remove them.

Remove the joystick from the joystick hole.

Insert the new joystick into the hole and secure it with the 4 bolts.

Buttons

Remove the wiring from the button to be replaced.

Unscrew the button from the hole. 

Screw in the replacement.

Connect the wiring back to the button replacement.

To connect the Game Menu button:

1. Open the control panel by unlocking from the underside.
2. Lift up the top of the control panel 90 degrees.
3. Attach the Game Menu button harness to the button.

To install a payment card reader:

1. Turn off the cabinet and unplug the power cable.
2. Pull the cabinet out and open the back door by unlocking it.
3. Put the door aside in a secure area.
4. Open the coin door.
5. Secure the card reader to the coin door and attach the pulse line to the coin mech.
6. Add any additional wiring harness as may be required by the manufacturer.

*For further guidance, refer to the card reader's manufacturer manual.

To install a standard dollar bill acceptor:

1. Turn off the cabinet and unplug the power cable.
2. Pull the cabinet out and open the back door by unlocking it.
3. Put the door aside in a secure area.
4. Open the coin door.
5. Secure the dollar bill acceptor to the coin door and attach the pulse line to the coin mech.
6. Add any additional wiring harness as may be required by the manufacturer.

*For further guidance, refer to the dollar bill acceptor's manufacturer manual.

Remove the power cable.

Pull out the cabinet into an open space.

Use a dolly to prop the cabinet on its back side then roll it to the desired destination.

ON = Vertical Monitor Orientation

OFF = Horizontal Monitor Orientation

*Note that all Vertical games also support Horizontal orientation. Only some Horizontal titles support Vertical orientation.

ON = Force 480p SD Resolution Output

OFF = HD Resolution Video Output

*For CRT monitor usage, a separately purchased HDMI to VGA DAC (Digital Analog Converter) is required.

ON = Rotate the Video Output by 180 degrees

OFF = Non-rotated Video Output

*Note that this feature is only compatible with some game titles.

Not Used

Cause

The exA-Arcadia System cannot get a response from or is not correctly connected to a compatible JVS I/O Board.

Resolution

Ensure that the USB Type A to Type B cable used is a fully wired high quality cable and not a cable built for charging.

Compatible JVS' I/O Boards

Cause

The game cartridge cannot be read or is not functioning correctly.

Resolution

Try gently cleaning the cartridge edge connector with a Q-tip and using canned air, blow out dust that may be in the cartridge slot.

A game cartridge was removed from the exA-Arcadia System while it was on.

Resolution

Do not hot swap, insert or remove game cartridges while the system is turned on.

Cause

The exA-Arcadia System's bookkeeping calendar battery is running low.

Resolution

For the newer style exA-Arcadia system

Locate the battery on the outside of the system below the left cartridge slots. Carefully
remove the battery by lifting up from the right side taking care not to use excessive force and avoid bending the holder pins on the left side.

Replace the battery with a high quality brand CR2032 battery by inserting under the pins on the left-hand side and pushing down on the right-hand side.

Do not push the battery in over the pins on the left-hand side as this can cause damage to the system.

To reset the bookkeeping calendar data, allow the system to run for a few hours without a game cartridge inserted.

For the older style exA-Arcadia system

The exA-Arcadia System's bookkeeping calendar battery is running low.

Resolution

For the newer style exA-Arcadia system

Locate the battery on the outside of the system below the left cartridge slots. Carefully
remove the battery by lifting up from the right side taking care not to use excessive force and avoid bending the holder pins on the left side.

Replace the battery with a high quality brand CR2032 battery by inserting under the pins on the left-hand side and pushing down on the right-hand side.

Do not push the battery in over the pins on the left-hand side as this can cause damage to the system.

To reset the bookkeeping calendar data, allow the system to run for a few hours without a game cartridge inserted.
