Continuing the tradition set by the first EXA LABEL release, CRIMSON KATANA EXA LABEL is the definitive version of CAVE’s 2 player horizontal shooting masterpiece AKAI KATANA.

Set in a parallel world resembling Japan’s Taisho period, people have discovered the power of Crimson Katanas. Requiring human sacrifices to unleash their immense destructive power, these weapons have been used by the empire to crush neighboring countries. However, all of the bloodshed and power gained through sacrificing close family members has made some of the warriors reconsider their usage. With new fighter planes and the powered up katanas at their disposal, this small band of rebels now fight back against the tyrannical empire.

Supervised by IKD working with exA-Arcadia, the game is now equipped with 4K visuals, play the Original mode in 4:3 and the other game modes in 16:9 widescreen. Audio has been remastered in stereo HD for not only the Original and Arranged soundtracks created by the legendary Ryu Umemoto but also for the first time, the FM Arranged Soundtrack initially created by Umemoto and completed posthumously by Keishi Yonao is exclusively available in this release. Utilizing new exA-Arcadia tech, 1 frame input lag provides the most responsive feel of any version of the game to date with 5 times the response speed of the Nesica version and double the speed of the original CV1000 JAMMA board.

In addition to a more accurate rendition of the arcade Original mode fixing unintended design & performance issues and bugs in the original release, additional game modes are available for the first time in arcades. Climax (Zetsu) Mode is the director’s cut of the arcade original now with the TLB added and Slash (Shin) Mode adds a brand new stage and new game mechanics. EXA LABEL combines the best aspects of all modes for a whole new game geared towards players of all levels only on exA-Arcadia. The all new Extreme difficulty selectable in each mode provides a 2nd loop difficulty in any game mode for veteran players selectable from the start. Each mode can be now played with up to 2 players simultaneously only on exA-Arcadia.

As the 2nd installment in the EXA LABEL series, CRIMSON KATANA EXA LABEL continues the tradition of providing the ultimate experience to arcades.
