What is JVS'?

Official adoption of JVS’ is under review with the JAIA JAMMA Video Standard Subcommittee.

Ultra Low Latency Input Response Tech

JVS’ (pronounced JVS Dash) is exA-Arcadia’s proprietary high speed extension of the JAIA or Japan Amusement Industry Association’s JVS standard I/O protocol designed to deliver faster than HID, ultra low latency response times as fast as 0.3 frames.

In games built around instant reactions, every input matters. A joystick movement or button press should translate to onscreen action instantly – with no delay, no uncertainty and no compromise.

JVS’ was created to push input response times beyond current arcade, console & PC standards giving players the sharp, immediate response they expect from high performance arcade play.

Built for Games Where Timing Matters

The original JVS standard was built upon the decades old RS-485 serial communication housed in a USB casing. It is slower than modern protocols and prone to packet losses across long distances meaning you could lose inputs during gameplay while linked setups try to establish communications between I/O boards.

JVS’ was engineered to address these issues for modern arcade games.

From fighting games and shooters to action titles and competitive games in general, JVS’ helps deliver the precision players demand, even when linked across 8 cabinet installations spanning over 30 meters in distance.

Every input is read with exceptional speed and consistency creating a more intuitive connection between the player and the game.

Performance Players Can Feel

Faster response makes games feel better.

Controls feel sharper.
Movement feels more immediate.
Execution feels more accurate.
Competition feels fairer.

For players, JVS’ delivers the instant response that separates true arcade performance from ordinary play.
