exA-Arcadia Announces P-47 ACES Mk.II

TOKYO, JAPAN – April 25, 2021 – P-47 ACES soars to the arcade frontlines once more!

Licensed by CITY CONNECTION, exA-Arcadia has announced P-47 ACES Mk.II at the Shooters Fes event on April 25, 2021. Developed by NMK for JALECO in 1995, the original game is a horizontal scrolling shooter based upon the European landscapes during World War II. Players can choose 1 of 4 ace pilots and can join forces with up to 4 players to battle enemies through land, sea and air. Known for it’s impeccable sprite art, deep scoring mechanics and high difficulty, P-47 ACES returns to the modern age 26 years later with all new features.

Internally developed by exA-Arcadia TEAM EXA-AM2, P-47 ACES Mk.II expands the original game’s 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9 in order to accommodate modern monitors. With the widening of the game’s play field, the difficulty of the original game has come down as players now have more room to dodge the fast bullets fired from all of the gigantic bosses encountered throughout the game. Adding to that, now 4 players can join the battle together and with their combined firepower, more easily take down the opposing forces. New key visual art showing the 4 main characters battling out a boss in Venice has been carefully drawn by legendary illustrator, Hidetaka Tenjin, who was worked on Macross and Gundam. There are more features to be revealed in the coming months leading up to the game’s location test. Stay tuned for more information.
